Hix TV - 2013 Video Contest Rules

Ever wanted to be on TV? What about directing a hit TV show? Now's your chance to get on the air. Hix TV is looking for summer programming. Get out your video cameras and you video editing software. Gather your friends and put together your own TV show. From documentaries and local events all the way to your own fictional story you can win the chance to get your show on the air on Hix TV and win some prizes. Official rules are listed below.

Contest Dates:
*Contest begins Jan 28, 2013

*Receive submissions starting Feb 11, 2013

*No more submissions after May 11, 2013

*Awards Announced - week of June 24, 2013
 

Age Group:
*Adult is defined as 18 years of age and older and out of High School.
*Student is 18 years of age and less and still in High School


Contest Rules:

*All entrants will need to submit a permission form with their video.  You can download the form by clicking here.

*The Hix TV contest will not limit the number of entries. Only one entry per person or group will be considered for the top 3 prizes in each age group.

*Show lengths to be considered for the prizes are 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 60 minutes.  Anything less than 15 or greater than 60minutes will not be considered for the prizes but may be shown on Hix TV.  The time do not have to be exact but we ask that that you try to get as close to these times as possible.

*All shows will be judged on production values (ie audio video edits, clarity, speaking, continuity, story)

*Unacceptable language and content in videos will not be considered for the contest. We are looking to keep the shows at a PG 13 or less.

*Final video can be submitted on VHS, Mini DV and DVD. Any others must be verified with the technical crew of Hix TV.

*Videos can be of a local event, news report, documentary, fiction story or animation. If you are unsure you can contact the station by email at murphyb@hicksvilleschools.org

*There will be no restrictions on where the entrant lives.

*Hix TV reserves the right to broadcast any videos submitted in this contest on the TV station. The entrant retains all rights as owner to their production.

*All entrants will be listed on the HIX TV station.



Prize Breakdown: for each age group

      First prize valued at $150

      Second prize valued at $50

      Third prize valued at $25
